Cross vandalized at Chicago church
April 04, 2012
Vandals have defaced a 117-year-old copper cross at a Chicago parish.
“It’s very shocking,” said Father Donald Craig of St. Mary of Perpetual Help Parish. “Crime occurs in every community, but this is such a recognizable religious object; it’s very sacred.”
“If they were trying to steal it, it would be gone,” he added. “It’s all bent out of shape and punched in.”
