Who Is There In The Host?

In the Host is to be found the same Jesus who is the delight of the Father and the Holy Spirit, the joy of the angels and saints, and he is there for us, and belongs to us . . . and some day if we have been faithful to him, he will be our happiness in Heaven.

Why Is Jesus There?

Jesus is there to teach us even here below, the secret of true happiness, to make us feel that all good is in him, and to give us peace through our intimate union with him.

What Does Jesus In The Host Do?

Jesus in the Host makes up for the coldness of our prayers by the fervor of his. In our name he adores his Father, he thanks him and offers his expiations and merits to supply what is wanting in ours.

What Does Jesus In The Host Wish?

Jesus wishes us to go to him as a friend goes to a friend . . . to console him . . . to converse with him . . . to keep him company . . . to tell him that we love him . . . to unite our prayers and sacrifices to his.

Of What Does Jesus In The Host Remind Us?

Let us remember the words of Jesus repeated from the Host . . . "What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul?"

Let us reflect that soon (perhaps tomorrow) we shall find ourselves alone with Jesus, on the edge of eternity and that he alone will judge us.

What Does Jesus In The Host Teach Us?

If Jesus suffered it was to teach us to suffer and to realize that the only real evil is sin . . . he died for us to teach us not to fear death, but rather sin, which exposes us to eternal misery.

What Does Jesus-Eucharist Ask Of Us?

Let us not forget that through love of us, Jesus instituted the Blessed Sacrament, foreseeing all the horrible profanations to which he would expose himself. He abandoned himself to them, and willed to endure all for love of us. Let us abandon ourselves for him and in him, and let us rest peacefully under the protection of him who cannot fail us.
