Once again we find a common theme in the fascinating pontificate of Pope Francis.

For example, writing in response to NY Times columnist Ross Douthat, Phil Lawler clarified his own position in: Could respect for the papacy mean resisting the Pope?

At the same time, there was so much criticism of Pope Francis during the Synod, that I decided today to try once more to calm what in some quarters is a rising panic. See: Does the Kasper Proposal make Pope Francis a heretic? Invalid marriages and mortal sin.

And then I realized another possible source of confusion concerning this papacy, so I decided to write this: Clarifying what it might mean for a pope to wish to change Catholic doctrine....
