Fundraising Update: Just $22,000 to go for 2013!
Through the generosity of our donors, we met the $35,000 Challenge Grant for which we were striving, the day before the deadline of December 12th. This success ensures that CatholicCulture.org will not end 2013 in debt.
However, our total 2013 budget includes about $30,000 for staff enhancement for next year because, frankly, the growth of both our audience and the availability of Catholic news around the world has put some of us in the position of being significantly overworked.
It is hard to keep studying key Catholic issues, write clear-headed commentary, and steer the best possible course when you don’t have adequate time to think (and I hope that does not sound pretentious).
Anyway, as of today, December 13th, we now have just $22,000 to go to meet our entire budget for 2013, which will in turn lay a stronger foundation for 2014.
We had to be so, um, vigorous in our fundraising to meet the critical Challenge Grant, that I cannot continue pressing people at that level. So we will rely on a few reminders, prayer and grace for the rest of the way.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who have supported our work, including prayer support, particularly during this 2013 Fall Campaign.
