Vietnam: thousands of Catholics protest imprisonment of lawyer
Catholic World News - September 30, 2013
Thousands of Catholics took part in vigils in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vinh on September 29 to protest the continued imprisonment of Le Quoc Quan, a Catholic attorney, according to an AsiaNews report.
The attorney, a member of the Commission for Justice and Peace of the Vietnamese bishops’ conference, has been harassed and detained repeatedly for his defense of human rights.
