Catholic Recipe: Flaming Brandy Punch

  • pinch ground nutmeg
  • 4 cloves
  • pinch ground mace
  • grated rind of 2 lemons
  • 1 pint brandy
  • juice of 2 lemons

DIRECTIONS

Put water, sugar, spices and lemon rind into a saucepan. Boil 5 minutes. Strain into heat-proof punch bowl. Add brandy, lemon juice. Ignite. Serve immediately. Yield, 4 servings
