Catholic Recipe: Creamed Onions

    INGREDIENTS

  • Canned whole boiled onions
  • White Sauce (see recipe)
  • evaporated milk
  • chopped parsley or paprika

This is a side dish, recommended for a Thanksgiving menu. For many households, this is a must for their Thanksgiving tradition.

DIRECTIONS

Use canned whole boiled onions. Make a well-seasoned White Sauce (see recipe, for either thin, medium or thick White Sauce), using half onion liquid from cans and half evaporated milk. Add drained onions. Just before serving, sprinkle with chopped parsley or paprika.
