Catholic Recipe: Creole Sauce III


  • 1 can (3 ounces) broiled sliced mushrooms
  • 2 Tablespoons minced green pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons minced onion
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 can (1 pound) tomatoes
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
  • few grains pepper

Serve with your Creole Cheese Omelet. To make more spicy, add Tabasco or cayenne pepper to taste.


Cook mushrooms, green pepper, and onion in oil about 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 1/2 hour or until sauce is rather thick. Makes 2-1/2 cups.
