Catholic Recipe: Icing for Sacher Torte

  • 3 ounces bitter chocolate
  • 2 ounces sweet chocolate
  • 3 ounces butter
  • 1/3 cup cream
  • 1/2 box sifted confectioner's sugar

This chocolate icing accompanies the Sacher Torte, a cake suitable for birthdays or namedays.

DIRECTIONS

In upper part of double boiler melt 3 oz. bitter chocolate, 2 oz. sweet chocolate, 3 oz. butter. Add 1/3 cup of cream. Stir. Remove from heat. Add 1/2 box sifted confectioner's sugar. Pour icing on the torte and spread around sides with spatula.
