Pope Benedict XVI met on March 2 with Josette Sheeran, the executive director of the UN’s World Food Program (WFP).

Sheeran was in Rome after a visit to Libya and Tripoli. The WFP leader said that she had told the Pope of her gratitude for the Church’s contributions to feeding the needy in impoverished countries.
