Catholic World News - March 02, 2011
Pope Benedict XVI met on March 2 with Josette Sheeran, the executive director of the UN’s World Food Program (WFP).
Sheeran was in Rome after a visit to Libya and Tripoli. After the meeting, she reported that the Pope had expressed grave concern about the people who have been caught up in the unrest in both countries. The WFP leader said that she had told the Pope of her gratitude for the Church’s contributions to feeding the needy in impoverished countries.
