Pope asks Emmanuel Community to redouble evangelizing efforts
CWN - February 03, 2011
At a February 3 meeting with members of the Emmanuel Community, Pope Benedict XVI said: “The profound grace of your community arises from Eucharistic communion.”
"The profound grace of your community arises from Eucharistic communion", he said.
"An authentically Eucharistic life is a missionary life,” the Holy Father continued. He encouraged the Emmanuel Community to bear witness to the Gospel, bringing hope and certainty to “a world often disoriented and in search for new reasons to live.” He specifically suggested that the group could be helpful in catechizing the young, and Catholics who return to the Church after a long absence. The Emmanuel Community is marking the 20th anniversary of the death of its founder, Pierre Goursat. A cause for his beatification was opened last year.
