CWN Editor's Note: Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, the president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, expressed sorrow at the death of Archie Battersbee. The 12-year-old boy died hours after an English hospital ended life support against his parents’ wishes.

Within the past week, the Italian daily edition of the Vatican newspaper printed two articles in defense of Archie—the first written after the court order that paved the way for the boy’s death, the second, written by editor Andrea Monda, after the child died.
