In a telephone interview with a Minnesota newspaper, US Ambassador to the Holy See Miguel Diaz declined to discuss how he reconciles the Church’s teaching on abortion with the Obama administration’s support of abortion.
“In order for me to formulate what I would like to formulate, it would take me more than a simple answer,” he said. “So I resist categories of either/or, in terms of arguing this or that. Unfortunately, it does not allow me the time to be able to explain in a thorough and satisfactory way what I mean by whatever I would say I am.”
“I'm not here to be a theologian or a spokesperson for the Catholic Church or any other religious entity,” he added.

"As a person of faith, I am stunned by any effort that seeks to divide us," and "In order for me to formulate what I would like to formulate, it would take me more than a simple answer," Diaz said. "So I resist categories of either/or, in terms of arguing this or that. Unfortunately, it does not allow me the time to be able to explain in a thorough and satisfactory way what I mean by whatever I would say I am," he said. And this doesn't sound like a politician or a "left of center" theologian?

Earlier on Dr. Diaz informed Holy Father that Obama had by himself saved the world from economic disaster. His job, you see, is to sing fawning praises of Obama to the Vatican, not to explain US policy. Dr. Diaz sounds like a school child from New Jersey.
