Catholic Answers files suit against IRS, charging intimidation
CWN - June 08, 2009
Catholic Answers, the California-based lay apologetics group, has filed suit against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), charging that the IRS is using its power to curb the group's right to free speech. Catholic Answers complains that the IRS-- acting at the suggestion of the pro-abortion group "Catholics for a Free Choice"-- has conducted a campaign of intimidation against the group, and warns that the federal tax agency is exercising the same power over other churches and religious groups in a threat to religious freedom.
