Boston hospital dismisses doctor for pointing to dangers of homosexual acts

September 16, 2015

An appeal panel at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston has denied the appeal of a doctor who was dismissed for “unprofessional conduct” after he drew attention to the health risks associated with homosexual acts.

Dr. Paul Church, a urologist who had been on the hospital staff for almost 30 years, was disciplined after he circulated information about risky homosexual behavior.

Church, who is also on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, had also protested internal communications among the hospital staff, encouraging acceptance of homosexuality. He had responded by circulating his own messages containing Bible verses, which his colleagues denounced as “offensive.”
