No Israeli tax compensation for arson attack on historic church

The Israeli government’s Tax Authority has ruled that the Church will not be compensated for damage caused by an arson attack on the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, built on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
Israeli law provides for compensation for damage caused by terrorist attacks, according to The Times of Israel. The Tax Authority ruled that the Jewish extremists who attacked the church “acted out of religious motivation … In light of [this], the property tax compensation fund, which according to law is required to pay compensations only for damages of war or damage from terrorism on the basis of the Israeli-Arab conflict, is prevented from compensating the church for the damaged caused to it.”
