Colombian bishops lament euthanasia protocol

In response to an order from the nation’s high court, the Colombian government has issued regulations permitting terminally ill adults to choose physician-assisted suicide.
Stating that every life should be protected from conception to natural death, Bishop Juan Vicente Córdoba Villota, who leads the episcopal conference’s commission for life, denounced the court decision and the government regulations, and lamented that the actions took place “without dialogue” and without consulting the nation’s people.
