California university offers online course for abortion practitioners

October 09, 2014

The University of California at San Francisco is offering an online course of abortion, advertising it as the first of its kind.

The course promises to examine “clinical aspects of medication abortion, aspiration abortion, post-abortion contraception, and pain management for abortion,” and to help practitioners overcome the “abortion stigma.” Professor Jody Steinauer told the Daily Beast that if the course helps “to access to safe abortion and decrease stigma about abortion, then we have been totally successful.”

The six-week online course is open to all students, although it is theoretically designed for health-care workers. School administrators report that 3,000 people have enrolled.

The sinfulness (stigma?) of abortion will remain despite all attempts teach otherwise.
