Islamic State destroys early medieval church

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant has destroyed a 1,300-year-old church in Tikrit, once a city of 260,000 in north-central Iraq.
The Assyrian Green Church housed the remains of five heads of the Assyrian Church of the East, according to the Assyrian International News Agency.
