Milwaukee archdiocese faces $14 million in legal bills for bankruptcy proceedings
Catholic World News - July 29, 2014
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee owes roughly $14 million in legal fees connected with its filing for bankruptcy protection, the National Catholic Reporter has found.
The legal fees-- which the archdiocese must cover for creditors as well as for its own lawyers-- dwarf the $4 million settlement that the archdiocese offered to sex-abuse victims before filing for bankruptcy, the Reporter notes.
