Jesuit leader decries threat of US-French intervention in Syria

The worldwide leader of the Jesuit order has said that US-led military intervention in Syria would be an “abuse of power.”

Father General Adolfo Nicolas said that action by the US and France would “certainly increase the suffering of the citizens of that country, who, by the way, have already suffered beyond measure.” He added that the proposed military action was based on incomplete information about the use of chemical weapons.
