Victory for law firm as court grants injunction against HHS mandate
August 30, 2013
A US district court judge has issued an injunction barring enforcement of the HHS mandate against Willis Brothers, a Kalamazoo law firm.
The brothers, one Catholic and one Protestant, “are devout pro-life Christians with a deep religious conviction that abortion and abortifacients are gravely immoral practices which result in the destruction of innocent life,” according to the Thomas More Law Center.
Howard Friedman of the Religion Clause blog noted that the Obama administration, in its desire to allow a different case to serve as a legal test case, did not oppose the issuing of the temporary injunction.
