Russian city sees first Corpus Christi procession in 95 years
Catholic World News - June 05, 2013
Catholics in St. Petersburg, Russia joined in a Eucharistic procession through the city’s streets on June 2.
The Corpus Christi procession was the first such public celebration since the Communist revolution in 1918. Police escorted the priests, religious, and lay people who joined in the march, which covered a distance of nearly 2 miles between parish churches.
