Special Vatican stamp sale to raise funds for restoration of colonnade in St. Peter's Square
CWN - November 28, 2012
The Vatican is issuing a special series of stamps and commemorative coins in a bid to raise funds for the restoration of the famous Bernini colonnade around St. Peter’s Square.
With corporate sponsorships lagging in a weak economy, the Vatican is offering a limited edition of keepsake stamps, coins, and certificates. A successful sale of all the available items would raise $3.9 million for the restoration campaign.
