English bishops to replace Mass reading, offer special prayer for Queen’s jubilee
CWN - November 23, 2011
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales is asking parishes to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s diamond jubilee by replacing the first reading at Mass next Trinity Sunday and by offering a special prayer for the queen before the final blessing.
The new first reading, from 1 Kings 3, refers to King Solomon’s request for wisdom; it will replace a passage from Deuteronomy 4.
