Vatican cardinal decries court decision in 'right to die' case

Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragan, the president of the Pontifical Council for Health Care, decried an Italian court's decision allowing the removal of a feeding tube from a comatose patient. The cardinal said that the court's ruling amounted to authorization for the "monstrous and inhuman murder" of Eluana Englaro, who was severely injured in an accident 16 years ago; her father had petitioned for the court "to allow Eluana to die."
