Libyan bishop denies rumor that he is sheltering Qaddafi

The leading Catholic prelate in Libya has denied rumors that he has given refuge to the country’s embattled leader, Muammar Qaddafi, in his offices.
Bishop Giovanni Martinelli, the apostolic vicar of Tripoli, has been a persistent critic of the NATO military drive against the Libyan government. The remarkable rumor that he is sheltering Qaddafi, which appeared in the Italian media, suggests that his opposition to the war has caused some propagandists to classify him as a friend of the Qaddafi regime
