Catholic Recipe: Cheese Sauce

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ac'cent*
  • 2 cups Medium White Sauce (see recipe)

Serve with Friday Fritters.

DIRECTIONS

Add 1/4 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese and 1/2 teaspoon Ac'cent* to 2 cups Medium White Sauce (see recipe). Cook over hot water, stirring until cheese melts.

*About Ac'cent: This is a form of monosodium glutamate (MSG), which is supposed to intensify flavor, but unessential in any recipe. Some people also have allergies to this ingredient.
