Catholic Recipe: Tuna Divan

    INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups cooked broccoli
  • 2 cans (6-1/2 or 7 ounces each) tuna
  • 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cans (10-1/2 ounces each) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 pound processed American cheese (or cheddar cheese)

This casserole's main ingredients are tuna, cheese and broccoli. Serve over noodles or rice.

DIRECTIONS

Arrange cooked broccoli in bottom of shallow casserole dish. Break tuna into fairly large pieces; place in casserole. Melt butter or margarine; blend in flour, paprika, salt, pepper, and Ac'cent*. Add milk; stir over low heat until thickened. Add soup and cheese, broken into small pieces. Continue to cook and stir until cheese melts. Pour over tuna. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
