glimmer of hope

I for one would be interested in hearing his Excellency's explanation of what is involved in being Roman Catholic in one's own way.
I can't honestly say the comment disturbs me; I actually find it hopeful: offering a glimmer of hope that I might not really be in the same Religion as some of these people after all. Certainly there'd be less to explain and apologize for. And to be embarassed over. Much less.
