Laos: 11 arrested for celebrating Christmas
CWN - January 12, 2011
Authorities in Laos arrested 11 Christians for holding a “secret meeting” to celebrate Christmas. Three of those arrested, who are Protestant pastors, remain in custody.
The small Protestant congregation had announced plans for its Christmas celebration and reportedly obtained permits for the gathering. Nevertheless police raided the assembly and arrested those in attendance. The three pastors are charged with a “political crime.”
