Pope prays for families in need as 2010 ends
Catholic World News - December 31, 2010
Pope Benedict XVI offered a prayer for families that live “in conditions of poverty or deprivation,” as he presided at a Vespers service in St. Peter’s basilica on New Year’s eve.
The Pope joined in the traditional singing of the Te Deum in thanksgiving for the blessings of the passing year. But he remarked that the end of 2010 still leaves many people living in “precarious conditions,” in need of solidarity.
