Thousands of Catholics leaving German Church

CWN - December 20, 2010

German dioceses have seen a mass exodus of registered Catholics during the past years, apparently in response to the sex-abuse scandal there.

Germans who are officially enrolled in congregation are subject to a “church tax,” and so disaffected Catholics have an incentive to drop their registration, rather than simply stop attending Mass. The number of German Catholics taking that step, and removing themselves from the official rolls, has doubled or even tripled this year in several dioceses.

My question to anybody who can answer it is: Who were the persons responsible for the appointment of so many practising homosexuals in the Church around the world? It's surely no coincidence.

So, a few idiot priests behave despicably, and that's a reason to deprive oneself of the Sacraments? Oh yeah, that'll help.
