Iraqi prime minister pledges increased security for Christians

A delegation of Iraqi bishops and other Christian leaders has met with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki following the October 31 massacre at Baghdad’s Syrian Catholic cathedral. The prime minister, who visited hospitalized victims on November 3, pledged to increase security around monasteries and churches, especially during times of public worship. The prime minister will visit the cathedral on November 6.
