Catholic gains in US elections
CWN - November 04, 2010
Catholic voters, who favored President Barack Obama in the 2008 election, swung toward the Republican Party in this year’s Congressional elections. The results offered several hopeful developments for pro-life voters, notes analyst George Marlin. Perhaps most notably, in the new Congress, the Speaker of the House will not be a California Catholic who favors unrestricted legal abortion (Nancy Pelosi), but an Ohio Catholic who was feted by Americans United for Life this year with the Henry Hyde Defender of Life Award.
