Pope thanks officials at Castel Gandolfo; prepares return to Rome

Catholic World News - September 27, 2010

Pope Benedict XVI offered his thanks to the officials of Castel Gandolfo on September 27, as he prepared to leave his summer residence and return to the Vatican.

The Pope thanked both civic and religious leaders, as well as the staff of the apostolic palace in Castel Gandolfo. He added a special word of thanks to both Vatican security officials and Italian police for their protection during his summer stay.

The Pope will return to the Vatican later this week.
