Phoenix bishop announces priest's excommunication for 'ordination' of woman
Catholic World News - September 17, 2010
Bishop Thomas Olmsted of Phoenix, Arizona, has announced the excommunication of a local priest who participated in the attempted ordination of a woman last month.
Father Vernon Meyer—who had broken publically with the Church before he joined in the ceremony—is the 5th person to be excommunicated from the Phoenix diocese under Bishop Olmsted.

Gee, what would happened if every bishop in the United States were to grow a spine like Bishop Olmsted?

"ordination of a woman last month. Father Meyer...is the 5th person to be excommunicated from the Phoenix diocese under Bishop Olmsted." How many other bishops can make such a claim? Does that mean Phoenix is an especially bad diocese---or that Olmsted is an especially good bishop?
