Pakistan denies discriminating against Christian flood victims

A week after the Fides news agency published testimonies of Pakistani Christians who claimed they had been denied relief aid because of their religion, the Pakistani government has denied that discrimination has taken place.
“The news about discrimination in relief distribution [to flood victims] is baseless,” Shahbaz Bhatti, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs, told Vatican Radio. Bhatti, a Catholic, met with Pope Benedict on September 13.
