Legionary priest complains of lingering ties to disgraced founder
CWN - August 31, 2010
A priest of the Legionaries of Christ has written to the leaders of the troubled religious order, complaining that houses run by the Legionaries in Mexico still show signs of special reverence for the late Father Marcial Maciel, despite multiple revelations about the founder’s misconduct. Father Peter Byrne concludes sadly that “the structures of power imposed by Maciel still remain in force today."
