Holy Eucharist stolen from Scranton church
CWN - August 06, 2010
A thief broke into a Pennsylvania parish church on the night of August 3, forcing his way into the tabernacle and stealing a ciborium with the Holy Eucharist. Nothing else was taken from the church, which is located in Carbondale, a town of 10,000 in what is historically a coal mining region.
The following day, Bishop Joseph Bambera of Scranton rededicated the desecrated church.
