British Jesuits will appeal record sex-abuse judgment

Jesuit officials in Great Britain plan to appeal a court’s decision ordering a payment of nearly $8 million to a sex-abuse victim. The judgment—the largest ever in Britain for such a case—came in a case that was allowed to proceed although the statute of limitations had passed.
