CDF to investigate allegations against prominent Chilean priest

June 21, 2010

Cardinal Francisco Errázuriz Ossa of Santiago has asked the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to investigation abuse allegations against Father Fernando Karadima Fariña, a revered priest born in 1930. Eight men now accuse Father Karadima of abusing them, some of them in confessional.

A leader in the Catholic Action movement, the priest helped train five of the nation’s bishops.
