Congo bishop welcomes US effort against rebel group

A Catholic bishop in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has welcomed American support for efforts to curb the violence of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) in Uganda and neighboring countries. Bishop Domba Mady of Doruma-Dungu told the Fides news service that the LRA engages in "indiscriminate attacks against civilians," and thus qualifies for treatment as a terrorist organization.
