Pope meets with Kuwaiti, Swiss leaders

Catholic World News - May 06, 2010

Pope Benedict XVI met with the Emir of Kuwait and the president of the Swiss Confederation in separate private audiences on May 6.

In his talk with Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Pope spoke of inter-religious dialogue, and particularly the situation facing the Christian minority in Kuwait. In his discussions with the Swiss leader, Doris Leuthard, he again mentioned inter-religious affairs, as well as international political and economic concerns.

President Leuthard was in Rome for the swearing-in ceremonies of new members of the Swiss Guard, which took place at the Vatican on May 6.
