Papal apology for abuse during priests' gathering?
CWN - April 26, 2010
During a worldwide gathering of clerics at the conclusion of the Year for Priests, Pope Benedict XVI will issue an apology for the sexual abuse of young people, according to The Independent. The Independent report, which cites only unnamed Vatican sources, inaccurately claims that this would be the Pontiff's "first general apology" on the issue. This report should be seen as speculative.
