Vietnam: mob swarms former nunciature; Catholics remain peaceful

After constructing iron barriers around the former apostolic nunciature in Hanoi, the Vietnamese government has removed a cross and pieta statue from the site. While a youth mob-– likely of members of Communist youth groups-– shouted at Catholics praying at the site and forced Catholics to move, the faithful ‘continued to stay calm, sing hymns and pray,’ sources reported at UCA News.
