City moves to protect historic church from demolition

In a move that could trigger a church-state conflict, an Ohio city council is considering an ordinance that would prevent the demolition of a church that Bishop Richard Lennon of Cleveland has slated for closure. The Cleveland Plain Dealer also reported that the measure would prevent the “gutting” of the church’s interior.
