Moscow's Catholic archbishop has offered an extremely optimistic perspective on ecumenical affairs, saying that union between the Holy See and the Russian Orthodox Church could be attained "within a few months." Speaking to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, Archbishop Paolo Pezzi said that he saw "no formal obstacles" to such a union, and the goal "has never been so close."
