Polish bishops warn politicians of excommunication for violating Church teaching

The Polish bishops have warned Catholic politicians that they could face excommunication if they take public stands against fundamental Church moral teachings on issues such as the dignity of life and the integrity of marriage. The statement from the bishops' family-life committee reaffirms Catholic opposition to abortion, contraception, embryonic stem-cell research, contraception, sex education, in vitro fertilization, and divorce.
