Vatican-China agreement near completion, Beijing reports

CWN Editor's Note: China’s state-controlled media report that a Vatican delegation is expected in Beijing this month, to continue negotiations aimed at an agreement on the appointment of Catholic bishops. The Global Times says that all major issues have been resolved, with both sides agreeing that Beijing would a role in naming bishops. “If the meeting goes well, an agreement could be signed,” the Chinese outlet says.
